About us

Welcome!

The parish was founded on April 11, 1928, at the direction of Cardinal Dennis Dougherty. Since that time our Parish Family has grown and changed for the better. We are an active Christian community who strive to fall in love with Jesus Christ and His Gospel every single day. We look out for one another, we care for those around us in need, we are generous and hospitable to strangers and although we are imperfect we seek to grow in holiness and learn how to live well in this crazy world of ours.

Maybe you’re not into the whole – “Organized Religion” thing… good… we are highly disorganized. Life is messy and so are we. But our Church teaches that we do have a purpose in this world. There is a meaning to our lives. Jesus Christ helps us to live as the person God intends us to be. We are a big, dysfunctional, lovable, genuine family… and the best news yet – we want YOU to be a part of this family.

There is a place for you here at Resurrection Parish. Our Parish Family is unique, diverse and beautiful. Take a look around our website, stop by our campus for a visit or contact one of our many helpful staff members.

Ready to Welcome YOU

A Philadelphia Catholic Church Where You Really Do Learn to Live Well

Welcome to Resurrection of Our Lord Parish!

Whether you are a returning Catholic to Resurrection Church, a newcomer to the area or someone with an emerging interest in the Catholic faith, I and all the parishioners of our parish welcome you to our home where we have been for close to 100 years. Since the days of the first Masses in the original church, and continuing through the current changes and growth, the people of faith have gathered together for prayer, faith formation, worship, service to the poor and fellowship.

As a parish community, some of our proudest moments come through the children served through our religious education programs and our school creating the next generation of Catholics to serve here locally and to share the message of Christ throughout the world. I certainly hope you will acquaint yourself with what Resurrection of Our Lord has to offer by exploring our website. You are always welcome to stop by in person too. If you have any questions or concerns, please let myself or our parish staff know by contacting us at anytime.

God Bless,
Father Jim DeGrassa
Parish Pastor

Our Pastor Father Jim is always ready to welcome anyone into our parish. He is friendly, kind and compassionate.
